Job DescriptionThe successful applicant would be expected to provide didactic and laboratory training to veterinary preclinical students in large animal surgery as well as other laboratories associated with Essential Veterinary Skills. Classroom and laboratory teaching of veterinary professional students is estimated to constitute about 70% of professional effort. The remainder will be divided between research and institutional service. Faculty members are expected to develop extramurally funded research programs that include collaboration with other scientists, advising of graduate student research, and publication in peer-reviewed journals. There is an expectation to undertake some educational research. Faculty members will also complete other duties as assigned.Qualifications- DVM or equivalent required. PhD or board certification strongly preferred. – Strong teaching skills and experience or evidence of potential. – Preference will be given to an applicant with proven teaching skills within the areas covered by the department. – Good research record or evidence of potential – Flexibility and ability to work well on a team – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. – Willingness to reside in St Kitts.Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and work experience.
