Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate is an accomplished chef with a deep knowledge of the culinary arts and island remote experience. The Chef de Cuisine will oversee the kitchen operations, leading the team of chefs to create high-quality cuisine and craft dishes that reflect the highest standards.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the culinary team, setting an example of excellence and commitment to the highest standards.
  • Develop and create menus, ensuring cuisine’s highest quality and inventiveness.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory and order food supplies, ensuring all items are fresh and of the highest quality.
  • Develop and implement new recipes, menus, and ideas to keep up with the latest trends in cuisine.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on restaurant policies, procedures, and culinary techniques.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked, clean, and organized.
  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Work with the front-of-house staff to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Manage and report on the performance of the kitchen staff.
  • Provide feedback and constructive criticism to the team.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of all kitchen staff.
  • Ensure that all safety and health regulations are adhered to.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine in a high-end restaurant or 5-star hotel/ ultra-luxury property
  • Knowledge of the culinary arts and experience in preparing various cuisines.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of chefs.
  • Passion for creating high-quality cuisine.
  • Knowledge of the financial aspects
  • Island remote experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours at the restaurant is only offering dinner

A salary of USD 5k-6k per month is negotiable to a higher net base in experience with benefits, housing allowance, etc.
