Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to join our team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate is an accomplished chef with a deep knowledge of the culinary arts and island remote experience. The Chef de Cuisine will oversee the kitchen operations, leading the team of chefs to create high-quality cuisine and craft dishes that reflect the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the culinary team, setting an example of excellence and commitment to the highest standards.
- Develop and create menus, ensuring cuisine’s highest quality and inventiveness.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Manage inventory and order food supplies, ensuring all items are fresh and of the highest quality.
- Develop and implement new recipes, menus, and ideas to keep up with the latest trends in cuisine.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on restaurant policies, procedures, and culinary techniques.
- Ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked, clean, and organized.
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
- Work with the front-of-house staff to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Manage and report on the performance of the kitchen staff.
- Provide feedback and constructive criticism to the team.
- Assist in the hiring and training of all kitchen staff.
- Ensure that all safety and health regulations are adhered to.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine in a high-end restaurant or 5-star hotel/ ultra-luxury property
- Knowledge of the culinary arts and experience in preparing various cuisines.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of chefs.
- Passion for creating high-quality cuisine.
- Knowledge of the financial aspects
- Island remote experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours at the restaurant is only offering dinner
A salary of USD 5k-6k per month is negotiable to a higher net base in experience with benefits, housing allowance, etc.
