Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Marketing Services (EBD) team in the capacity of:

Marketing Assistant (New Business & Client Reporting)

Process quotation requests and proposal documents for medium and large groups for Brokers, Agents and clients.

Location: Kingston

As a Marketing Assistant, you will:

  • Prepare new business proposals:
    • Receive and log all data relevant to the quotation from Brokers & Financial Advisors pertaining to Group health, life, and personal accident.
    • Dispatch completed proposals.
    • Log and bring medium and large proposals to the attention of the Underwriting Department/ Portfolio Manager.
    • Receive premium rates, prepare and dispatch proposal documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of Tenders.
  • Input key data requirements for proposed & accepted new business in the New Business & Client Reporting Access data system.
  • Advise Brokers & Financial Advisors on the structure of the proposals and equip them with the appropriate forms.
  • Assist in the preparation of new business for closure/ settled business.
  • Assist in the preparation of client management reports as needed.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

  • Minimum of a Diploma or Associate Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of the HIAA and LOMA parts 1 & 2.
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in the insurance industry.
  • Excellent time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Group Insurance business.
  • Ability to work on own initiative given appropriate guidelines and objectives.
  • Sound knowledge in computer software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Access applications.
