Overview

NOC is the first line of response to issues impacting the quality and performance of global mobile messaging services and is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining those services.

This position is for the 3rd shift, working four (4) times a week from 10:00pm to 8:00am. (Saturday through Tuesday)

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in English (oral and written)
  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous and diverse technology issues to resolution and an unbeatable sense of urgency.
  • Basic Database queries and functions
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts.
  • Good understanding of UNIX/LINUX concepts, scripts and commands.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the development of operational procedures, processes and scripts.
  • Unix/Linux scripting experience writing functions and scripts (not just from command line) highly preferred.
  • Experience working with SMS and MMS communication protocol technology highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds monitoring platform is a plus
  • Experience working with incident management processes is highly preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Substantial experience in operating 7 x 24 high-availability IT infrastructure in a highly transactional environment.
  • 1- 2 years’ experience with IT/LAN/WAN in an operations or help-desk environment
  • 1-2 years troubleshooting network elements, protocols, services, and transport layer problems.
  • Cisco (CCNA or higher), Linux Professional Institute (LPIC-1) and/or Microsoft certifications highly preferred.
  • Previous NOC operations experience highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years in a Tier II or higher role
