The opportunity As Opensource Application Development Consultants at EY, you will immerse in the forefront of national digital transformation projects in the Caribbean. As leaders in government digital transformation and consulting in the region, our team is uniquely positioned to bridge the technical and governance domains. With EY, you get the opportunity to: Collaborate remotely with the Government and Public Sector Transformation Delivery team, shaping the digital landscape of regional governments. Implement ‘whole of government’ strategies and spearhead technological solutions at a national level. Work hand-in-hand with EY’s seasoned leadership and client counterparts, ensuring digital ambitions turn into tangible realities. Provide hands-on programming expertise, lead pilot implementations, and train IT staff to ensure sustainability and excellence in projects. Your key responsibilities Implement pilot systems using opensource technologies. Co-lead the development of application requirements. Advocate and adopt agile methodologies in Design, Development, Testing, and Installation of applications. Coordinate and team with clients and vendors, ensuring seamless integrations. Craft and roll out comprehensive technical training programs to other developers. Close collaboration with the EY engagement leadership team and clients to plan, design, deliver, and deploy solutions to complex business issues Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Focus on deliverables and client business priorities. Manage expectations of service. Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends. Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge. Keep up to date with current developments and trends in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge. Good analytical, report-writing and presentation skills. To qualify for the role you should have: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field. A Master’s degree would be considered an asset. A minimum of 10 years in web system development and implementation. Deep experience in open source technologies is mandatory. Track record in delivering mission-critical and secure applications is mandatory. Proven experience in the implementation of National ID and Civil Registry systems is required. Experience in Digital Public Goods systems is a significant advantage.
