Overview

Main Function:

The Senior Manager – Pork Processing, and Engineering will be tasked with the management of all the Pre-Processing Responsibilities for the Pork Processing Plant. This position oversees all other facilities of the processing plant to include: maintenance, plant sanitization and expedition. The Senior Manager is who is responsible for the mechanical operation of the Pork Processing Plant which includes maintenance of equipment and the implementation of systems and processes aligned with mitigating against downtime.

Key Accountabilities

Pork Processing

  • Managing and providing day-to-day leadership of the Pork Processing Plant with a focus on Maintenance and Plant Sanitization and other Facilities relating to same
  • Providing strategic advice and recommendation to the Head of Integrated Production – Pork in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the new and modified operating policies
  • Undertaking the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Engineering of the Pork Processing Plant
  • Providing Leadership development support to the direct reports who oversee Pre-Processing i.e. Plant Sanitization, Maintenance, and Facilities
  • Clearly communicating the priorities and targets to direct reports who oversee Pre-Processing
  • Overseeing performance of the direct reports in Pre-Processing and complete performance reviews accordingly
  • Employing effective strategies for implementing of operation procedures according to the guiding principles of the Company and the QMS Systems
  • Keeping abreast of trends aligned with our operations and participate in decision making process; for improvement in quality, efficiency, productivity, safety and general progress of the company and its employees
  • Ensuring compliance to all state regulations
  • Ensuring that the CB Group policy, objectives and vision are communicated to staff
  • Ensuring the safety of staff and assets
  • Assessing all systems and processed continuously and bridging gaps
  • Analyzing, designing, documenting, and implementing internal reporting systems and procedures for the Pre-Processing Operation of the Pork Processing Plant as applicable to the specified area
  • Participate in the financial review, planning and forecasting of expenses for the Pre-Processing operation of the Pork processing area
  • Managing the financial budget aligned with function.

Engineering

  • Provide oversight, guidance and direction to a cross functional team of Facilities Maintenance Technicians to meet the objective of safety and effective equipment operation in the Pork Processing Plant
  • Develop and implement reliability plans that support increasing uptime of the Pork Processing Plant
  • Drive maintenance Best Practices: Innovate, document, improve work methods, standardize, provide a safe work environment and require safe work practices, train, commission equipment, collect, measure, and analyze key performance indicators to improve processes
  • Offer guidance to senior leadership on maintenance and equipment end of life (EOL) issues using ROI, and other analytical techniques
  • Provide monitoring, auditing and enforcement of maintenance execution, safe work practices, and institute and audit training drills accordingly
  • Ensuring that all mechanical systems within the building meet relevant safety codes and standards

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager in Manufacturing (similar role)
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering or related field
