Summary The Senior Technician will assist in maintaining excellence in the yacht maintenance quality of the charter fleet. Main duties will include ensuring delivery of the highest standards of yacht maintenance and reliability, providing prompt and courteous technical service to charter guests while on their yacht vacation, and technical repairs on yachts in preparation for charter. What you will be doing: Ensure the correct maintenance, operation, and readiness of all vessels for charter including all on-board systems, rigging, inventory and hull structures per company policy and procedures. This includes routine and preventable maintenance (A3, B6 and C12). Supporting the chase call team to assist charter guests in need of technical service during their holiday – including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, ensuring guests can continue on their holiday in a timely manner. Provide digital detailed documentation of technical assistance provided on chase calls and on yachts as per company process Provide customer service Ensure consistency in terms of product delivery i.e. every charter goes out to the same high standards Ensure all maintenance is regularly updated and recorded on the company’s fleet maintenance system Ensure H&S policy is fully implemented especially ensuring all safety equipment is onboard the yachts, serviced on time, and certifications are in date Ensure insurance and warranty claims are submitted and processed Responsible for resolving failures of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and air conditioning systems and reinstate in line with manufacturer original standards Responsible for repairing plumbing including domestic water supply, sewage waste lines, clogged heads and holding tanks lines Improve the yacht maintenance and presentation standards by developing and delivering improvement action plans. Lead by example, to encourage top performance of the base team on a day-to-day basis Help develop a culture of continuous improvement Support with technical yacht briefings as required Manage and develop Base team Oversee the day-to-day operations of the base Any other duties as assigned by the line manager The ideal candidate with have the following: Experience in a similar role for a yacht charter company Experience maintaining and installing diesel inboard engines and 2 & 4 stroke outboard engines per manufacturer standards Working knowledge of 12v DC and 120v AC electrical systems, including Mastervolt, Victron, Cristec and Blue Sea Air conditioning and refrigeration factory installation, troubleshooting and repair Experience working with a similar yacht fleet Practically minded, a good fault finder, with the proactive attitude to solve problems The ability to set the bar high and deliver the highest level of customer service, yacht presentation and yacht maintenance standards Experience supervising and developing a team Confident attending customer chase calls, and communicating with customers in a professional manner Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines A flexible working approach, able to meet operational demands in terms of duties and working hours Well organised and able to prioritise effectively Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and experience using a digital fleet maintenance system is preferable Ability to use a VHF radio including the proper use of call signs Self-motivated, friendly, and professional A sailing licence would be desirable
