Job Description
The Senior Business Advisor is a subject matter expert who works with clients looking to start their own business through to supporting established businesses. They work to solve problems, improve their business performance, develop strategies, and provide advice on a variety of business-related issues. They also help clients make strategic decisions on how they should approach these issues to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide business advice and support to start-ups (from concept to reality) and/or established businesses to grow, scale-up, change or diversity their business model, and to remain sustainable.
  • Assist clients with recommendations for other funding opportunities available from an organizational or island standpoint using established monthly highlighted industries or initiatives.
  • Nurture established relationships with clients, partners, associates, and networks through the creation of events, attending meetings and ensuring you keep up to date with global, national, regional, and local business support initiatives for the benefit of our clientele.
  • Collect and analyze quarterly financial statements (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet) from your pool of clients to provide advice on ways to increase revenue while decreasing expenses.
  • Organize and deliver business education classes, training seminars and workshops specific to your island and/or jurisdiction to enhance financial capacity, business acumen and client readiness.
  • Inform and influence government policy on business support and provide oversight of funding programme creation for your island and/or jurisdictions specific to industries that are scarce.
  • Support clients by identifying potential risks or challenges that may arise with specific projects or initiatives and suggesting mitigation strategies to limit the same.
  • Providing strategic advice to senior management on how to improve performance, including identifying potential risks and offering solutions.
  • Assist clients with the development of marketing strategies and plans for new products or services.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the business support landscape and the ability to advise businesses on the range of options available.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting & Finance, Business Management or business-related field

Minimum of 5 years in respective field
Engaging personality with the ability to cultivate strong relationships and work successfully with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Excellent communication skills in all forms

Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner
