Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to work closely with a sales representative for the Caribbean region.
The Systems Engineer’s main mission will be to support the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, including sales calls and meetings, product and services presentations, technical demos, proof of concepts, solution designs, being a trusted advisor for the customers and partners of the region.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Pre-sales – assist in qualifying sales leads from a technical standpoint.
- Sales calls and meetings – be the main technical resource on sales calls and meetings, providing answers and educating the customer on issues ranging from features, specifications, and functionality to integration.
- Conversant with networking, security, and services solutions.
- Maintain self-learning effort to render IT Security Certifications
- Lead the technical conversations during customers and partners meetings, focused on identifying which solutions could solve customers’ pain points.
- Design, document and explain Fortinet technical solutions to customers and partners.
- Participate in the internal sales calls, sharing any input from the Engineering perspective that could support the sales effort.
- Present Fortinet products and solutions during customer and partners meetings, internal and external activities, or events.
- Ability to travel to visit customer outside of the base country in the cases of a multi-country position.
- Participate in the local and regional Engineering internal calls.
- Document using the internal systems all the opportunities were engineering effort is required and have a direct impact in the revenue of the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, NSE4, NSE5, NSE6, NSE7, NSE8, CCIE, AWS and Azure or other Cybersecurity or Public Cloud Vendors Certifications are a plus.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SMTP, HTTP.
- Understanding of Operating Systems: Windows, Linux: Kernel, processes, daemons, services, troubleshooting.
- Experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration
- Strong understanding of Wireless Authentication technologies
- Knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, AntiVirus.
- Understanding of public and private Cloud technologies and virtualization: Hypervisors, AWS, Azure, OCI, Kubernetes, Dockers.
- Advanced routing knowledge (OSPF, BGP, RIP, IS-IS).
- Strong understanding in the following technologies and protocols: RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES, AES
- Experience with encryption and authentication technologies required.
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to adapt to change and learn new skills.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree.
- Fluent in English
- Fortinet certifications and experience is a plus.
- French or Portuguese is a plus.
